Werewolf!!! Preview: Nick Patten

Dear friends and readers! Did you note the glorious review in the previous post? Did you sit seated on the seat of your britches wondering when you would get to see Editor No-no-notorious Nick‘s Werewolf!!! contribution? Did you ever fathom that perhaps you would encounter THE ENTIRETY OF HIS STORY RIGHT HERE? You will. Here and now! RIGHT HERE!

We interrupt these previews for a REVIEW

AW YEAH LOOKIT our Editor Nick-the-Nunchaku Patten all gettin’ reviewed by The Comics Journal!

Rich Kreiner, that paragon of class and taste, reviews Nick’s mini Unreachable Beasts #1 here: http://www.tcj.com/blog/minis-monday-unreachable-beasts-1/

Rich calls Unreachable Beasts #1 “cleverly realized, charmingly crafted, unapologetically off-kilter and continually surprising,” which is exactly correct! He also calls it CLASSICAL, which should make you think twice about dissing Rachmaninoff in casual conversation…. he shares an adjective with NICK EFFING PATTEN, he has to be kind of cool!

Don’t forget to expose yourself to Nick’s blog now and again to keep up with what Purplo is doing. That little purple man is always up to something.

Werewolf!!! Preview: Penina Gal

There is really only one thing that can be said about WEREWOLF Editor Powerhouse Penina Gal’s latest wolfy opus, and that is “Holy cow, girlfriend, this shiz is rad as heck. Are you channeling Charles Burns or something, because mmm mmm mmm, it smells like tasty brushwork up in here. I mean, dang. Did somebody level up, or did somebody level UP? FOR REAL!”

….truly, this is all that can be said. And now we will let the work speak for itself, in its eloquent and decorous manner.

BRUSH. WORK.

You can read the rest of “Cubs” in WEREWOLF!!! (issue 3), available soon, from this very site! Stay tuned for more news on where wolf is available. Werewolf is available. Where… Werewolf… is available for purchase.

Werewolf!!! Preview: B. Swardlick

We thought we would follow up the last post about shiny reviews with this next preview! CONTINUITY, my friends!

We expounded on our love for Editor Baddass B. Swardlick’s comics in the last post, but that will not stop us from keeping it going! We love these comics! They crack us up. It’s the truth, and nothing will change it. Here, have the first three pages of the fourth “Failwolves” story:

Reviews, Reviews, We Love Reviews

One of our very own renowned and astound–ing (rhyme? yes?) editors has been REVIEWED! “Reviewed, you say?!” we hear you ask. “Yes, reviewed!” we answer, with gusto. For it is true.

Take a gander at Rich Kreiner’s review of Failwolves, by Betsey Swardlick, over on The Comics Journal’s website!

Failwolves contains stories featured in the first two Werewolf! anthologies, as well as a third that can currently only be found in the reviewed collection, but rumor on the street has it that it will be available on its own in the future. If you, too, have read these stories and love them as much as we do, you will be positively delighted to know that the fourth installment of this adventuresome duo is currently alive in print in Werewolf!!! (being, as we like to repeat, volume 3). Soon to be previewed here on this very blorg.

Our favorite line from the review, speaking of the comics’ lovably lively lycanthropic leads, is this: “For them, being a werewolf is like a super-duper energy drink plus hair.”
Also plus dental barfing. Can’t forget that.

MICE!

We here at Werewolf HQ are recently returned from MICE in Boston! We had a SHOCKINGLY good time! Thanks to everyone who came by to visit us and procure our comics. If you couldn’t attend but still wish to acquire our new book, it will be up online VERY SOON! We will keep you posted, believe us.
